I have been debating sharing this No Churn Nutella Cheesecake Ice Cream with you for weeks.
As a no churn ice cream, I’m not even sure it’s really truly an ice cream. No churn ice creams have been very popular for the past couple of years. They basically have whipped cream, sweetened condensed milk and then flavorings. There’s no churning. Just whipping up and freezing.
I’ve never tried any of them. I don’t know why exactly. Maybe because I have an ice cream maker and have made some ridiculously delicious ice creams with it like Seaport Salty Swirl and Ultimate S’mores Ice Cream. (My husband says… Continue reading
Summer is upon us, so I figured you might need this Chewy Hot Fudge Sauce.
That’s right. CHEWY Hot Fudge Sauce. This is that amazing hot fudge sauce, that when ladled generously over some ice cream, solidifies just enough to get chewy. I’m not talking about magic shell here. That’s the topping that literally hardens to a cracking stage, the kind of chocolate that ice cream bars are dipped in. And it’s not like a hard caramel that gets stuck in your teeth. Nope, this is the stuff that fudge filled chocolate dreams are made of. It’s ooey and gooey and chewy but then it softens and melts in… Continue reading
I had grand ideas for this ice cream.
And I actually thought, through the entire process, that it was going to be a grand fail. But I decided to persevere to see if it would all work out. I made Ultimate S’mores Ice Cream and put it in the freezer and it was there for a week. Every day my son asked, “Can we have the Ultimate S’mores Ice Cream for dessert tonight?” I kept telling him, I had to shoot it first, then we could eat it. The question the next night was, “Did you shoot the Ultimate S’mores Ice Cream yet?” But I hadn’t, partially because… Continue reading
Hey! I made us some ice cream!
This is an exciting day because I only make ice cream approximately….well….let’s say….yeah, once a year :) Just enough to make me feel like owning an ice cream maker is actually worth the cabinet space. You remember Egg Nog Ice Cream with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce? That was the last time I made ice cream, which is crazy considering how easy it is to whip up a batch. So, today I’m sharing one of my favorites, Seaport Salty Swirl Ice Cream.
This is Part 2 of Mini Vanilla Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches continued from yesterday’s post.
For that post, we used vanilla wafers for all of our flavor creations. The cookies were a blank canvas that we could add almost anything to in so many delicious combinations. Today, we’re using cream filled sandwich cookies to make Mini Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches. The cream filling gives us a head start on the flavor combo and chances are, you don’t have any cream or fudge filling just hanging around your pantry. These are the perfect cookies to build our next flavor creations.
I’m using three kinds of cream… Continue reading
I was sooo tempted to call these “Mini Vanilli” Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches.
But they’re the real deal, so we’re going straight up with Mini Vanilla Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches. (I hope at least a few of you got the joke ;)
I’m declaring this week to be ice cream sandwich week here at The Merchant Baker. I’d say it took me that long to get all the shots of this very fun, very easy and very delicious frozen treat. Do you have any idea how fast ice cream melts when you’re standing next to a sunny window and it’s unseasonably hot for a day in May… Continue reading
Guess where this recipe came from?
An executive recruiter. Yes. It’s true. I would not have this recipe for Egg Nog Ice Cream with Hot Buttered Rum Sauce had I not met this particular recruiter. I had left my last position and decided to take a break from the corporate world. When I decided to see if I wanted to jump back in the game, I reconnected with recruiters I had worked with in the past and began networking with new ones. Well, sometimes you just meet someone that you gel with…a person that in any other circumstance would be a friend. I… Continue reading
It’s Monday. How about a milkshake?
A Pumpkin Pie Milkshake, so it’s very November appropriate, even if it is the Monday after a possibly splurgey Halloween weekend of candy and/or parties. I wanted to post this recipe this week, so I waited until after lunch yesterday to make it and then split it amongst the four of us to minimize the damage.
I will tell you, however, that splitting the milkshake did little to satisfy my family. They all wanted it “for real” for dessert last night. Between the parties we attended and trick or treating…I’m pretty sure they didn’t need more treats by… Continue reading
