Waffle Frittatas are my latest experiment in the “Can you waffle it?” category.
It’s not like I’m obsessed with waffling things, although I admit I have been intrigued by some of the things I’ve seen people waffle. (Warning: I shall be using “waffle” as both a noun and a verb throughout the post :) The truth is, I love waffles, the traditional ones, that is. I’m hoping this Lemon Ricotta Crumb Cake sticks out from the myriad of back to school snacks, pumpkin and apple treats that are so popular this time of year.
Is there a season for lemons? I get the taste for citrus in the winter months…hmmm…and I guess in the spring and definitely in the summer too. Probably not in the fall so much? Nah…Who am I kidding? I’d never turn down a lemon treat (especially a good lemon square :) I suppose I’m always in the mood for lemons.

I remember waking up as a kid, becoming slowly aware of the aroma of hot fresh baked blueberry muffins wafting into my room. I loved blueberry muffins and I knew that smell anywhere. My CSA strikes again with these yummy Sour Cream Chive Biscuits.
When I saw we had chives in our CSA basked a couple of weeks back, I was thrilled. I love fresh chives. They are mandatory when I make baked potatoes. My kids are completely on board with that. I always have to make sure I chop up enough because those chives get generously spooned on top of hot buttery spuds.

You’re probably wondering what could have possessed me to come up with this recipe for Blackberry Fontina Basil Scones.
It’s simple. They were inspired by an obsession. An obsession with a particular grilled cheese sandwich from Jessica over at How Sweet It Is.
